Fusible web problem, i think
Brand new to this Board...and a big problem. I am using HeatnBond fusible web, I have a Janome 6600, put in new top stitch needle have setting for blanket stitch.
Ok, the thread keeps breaking after about four minutes of sewing. I changed threads a couple of times, but to no avail. Any suggestions? I thought the fusible web was not working due to the very humid weather, however the first time I did my pattern it worked. I'd appreciate any suggestions before I take it to the sewing centre. |
what size needle are you using?
|
are you using HeatnBond lit for sewing. HeatnBond ultra no sew
|
Make sure you are using Heat and Bond lite.. from the sounds of it you may have the wrong one!
|
I have never had a problem with heat and bond even if it was heavy duty-check to make sure you have a good needle for use with web-I have used top stitch and sharps and even jeans needles Good luck

The ultra heat and bond says right on the pkg that it is not for sewing. There are 3 weights of H&B.

I've sewn the not for sewing stuff. You must use a large needle that leaves huge holes. Not pretty but it works. You might try a different thread also.
|
are you using the correct size needle for your thread? also, like other's have mentioned- there is (sew-able) and (non-sew-able) heat N bond- heat n bond lite is the one you want- i would switch needles to a sharp or universal and make sure it is the correct size needle for the thread you are using- personally (and i've been sewing since the mid 60's) i've never had much luck with top-stitch needles- i use sharps or universals 99% of the time.

wonder under works way better.I have multiple machines and have glue issues on all of the with heat and bond-only works on straight stitch-not fancy ones.I will not ever buy heat n bond again-only wonder under-never ever an issue on any stitch or any machine.

Heat and bond is too heavy for sewing.. It is ok for crafts. You need Steam a Seam II or pellon 805 fusable. Both are light weight and easy to sew thru. Good luck
