Have you tried Freebreeze?

I'd hand wash them with a mild detergent and lay out to dry and then spray with Febrese if they still stink. You can wash the rubbermaid tub and get that cleaned up. Put in the sun for awhile. They look and sound like you made a really good deal. Congrads!

That is just what I was thinking. I have taken material and garage sale yarn and put in pillow cases and tie in tight knots and wash and dry. Vinegar is a good thing. Maybe a double rinse

Try fabreze thats what I use to get the smell of smoke out if I don't or can't wash it.

this may sound crazy but newspaper absorbs odor so try crumpling up newspaper in the box to get rid of some of the odor!!

Spray with Scent-a-way tht hunters use to camo their scents. Works great for a lot of things

I was just given some fabric scrapes from a very heavy smoker. I put them in a large zip lock bag with dry coffee grounds. Left them zipped in the bag for a few days. Every time I walked by them I would shack the bag. It has taken the smoke smell out of the fabric. I wash the fabric in the sink or a mesh bag. Then dry it in the dryer or on the line. Hope this helps. A friend that sells used cars gave me the idea of the coffee grounds.

How about just airing them out and spraying with Fabreeze?
