You give me hope. Now I just have to talk my friend into going material shopping with me. I wouldn't know a family group of colors if they walked up and hit me in the face. I might as well be color blind.

Oh how nice.

I don't mind at all. This picture has been to the moon and back a couple of times. I listed on e-bay, Craigslist and Luxxee. send it as many as you wish. I am glad you like it.

I collect Oriental things, I just love them. I have purshased a geisha panel and fabric to make a queen size quilt for out bedroom. Yours is so beautiful! I wish I could make something 1/4 that good. You are a true artist. Thanks for sharing.

Here is a website from a quilt store that use to be by me. She has some oriental patterns that might give you some ideas.

Go to patterns and then there are some oriental patterns.

Years ago I lived in LaGrange, Georgia and was a yard-sale junkie. We had a lot of German and Japanese companies and these messages remind me I found some beautiful Japanese panels that were too beautiful to not buy at a yard sale. Now that I'm retired, I'm going to find them and quilt them. Thanks to both of you ladies for sharing your panels. Quilt on!

[Has anyone done one of these. I'm completely confused about how to go about making one. I've found the panels on line but I'd still need directions. Is there a lesson on them somewhere? I'm really bad at googling.[/quote]

The 3rd panel is the one I worked on and did with material. The paint is cool and looks easier. One could use the material and use fabric paint and shade or just thread paint shadow. The net I put over top holds pieces in place mostly until free motioned. good luck

you color them in with permanent colors. some use crayolas and iron afterwards using a brown paper bag to protect your iron and ironing board too. they do last. permament colored pencils are available also.
i have a panel already colored but have some cat panels that aren't.

Miride: Where did you get that panel? She is just beautiful, I would like to try to get one for my DIL who is Japanese. Any help would be really appreciated. Your work is just awesome. Thanks Bea
