I'm really worried about my fabric choices. So if I could get some feedback I'd really appreciate it. TIA

If you look at my avatar, it is from the book "Moon Dance" by Cary Flanagan. I got mine from http://www.cottonclub.com/ It is a great book for using panels. My avatar is an 18" square, which I made as a donation for a miniature silent auction.

Ok after digging through all the color articles I could find I know what is bothering me about the fabrics. The green background fabric and the black background of the kimono fabric are going to cause them both to receed so the kimono won't pop like I want it too. So I either use somekind of misty color for the back for contrast or change the kimono focus fabric. Which would basically mean starting all over. Does that sound right?

I like your fabric choices except for the green background. It will overshadow the beautiful asian fabrics in the kimono. I love the kimino fabric and wouldn't change that and I would use a soft, pale, mottled green in the same tones as the plant leaves in the kimino fabric. I would change the umbrella fabric and pull some other color from your fabrics. Just my opinion...... It will be beautiful whatever you do I'm sure.

What other kinds of Quilting nightmares are you having?

i'm worried about cutting the pieces out..the preprinted panel is just blocks of color, and if i cut something wrong, i can't replace the fabric...everytime i get it out, i wimp out & put it away....

I don't think you cut up the panel. It seems as though you should trace all the pieces onto fusible web like Steam a Seam then fuse that onto the fabric where it is suppose to go. Am I right you all? Very, very pretty panels.

These panels are available through most quilt shops.

Your absolutely right those are the two fabrics that have to change. But I've looked all day and just can not find anthing I like. I'm going to take a break and work on my current block to try and clear my mind.

If any of you see an olive green tinted material or something that would work with the parasol I'd really apprecate a holler.

BTW the website I got the panels from is listed on one of the earlier pages 3 I think.
