Can't top this story!
|
I had 2 ghosts for years named Not Me and I Dunno. I never saw these imps, but every time I wanted to know when something disappeared I got the same reply from my family, "It's Not Me" or " I Dunno". Those little invisible imps didn't eat much, but boy they really irritated the heck out of me!

well, I did not sew two blocks together. I gave up looking and just made the block. finished! Will post later. I need to take it to Guild in a couple of weeks. So, I don't think that I should post it until after the meeting.

Hi Sandy
You are singing my song!, I loose things all the time and it is downright frustrating at best. I warn anyone who visits to be careful they don't get a needle in their bottom when sitting on the couch, as I have lost that many it's not funny. Do make sure though it hasn't got caught up with something else, also check under your couches as I have found many things there even my drivers licence. Good luck! Vicki |
we have gremlins in our house..they are pesty little things..into everything...lol
|
Blame it on the dog or cat. They always get the blame. I have fabric and blocks go missing all the time. I think they like to play hide and go seek !! REALLY FRUSTRATING!!
|
I have a hose full of thinks that I put away so that I would know right where they are. Still haven`t found them . Guess someone will when they have to clean my house out. That is the gift I am leaving to my kids. LOL
|
Have you checked the refrigerator? Seriously, I have found some strange things in my fridge, obviously set there by someone (myself, most often) stopping for a snack break: embroidery scissors, a paperback book, a hammer, a screwdriver, a spool of thread, and once my sister's kitten (he was fine but that's another whole story).
|
That same ghost resides in my home, also. My ex hung my car keys up high on a nail on the kitchen wall. HOURS! My most frustrating day that year. Kitchen table or fridge I could understand. Two feet above my head does'nt work well.
I now look on the floor first when looking for fabric pieces....they don't make noise when they fall. Age is now 73. |
we have a little green elf who hides my blocks
|
I still have not found the embroidery foot (new!!) that disappeared last December. Sigh.....

I have to say that my darling kitty purrson Divo, (my Avatar) would be TOTALLY guilty of plucking it off the cutting table, running and hiding it somewhere!!
Right now we're searching high and low for his collar!! Hmmm...... I sincerely hope you find it soon! I have been in this dilemma more times than I care to remember!! Good luck!! |
Have had that happen to me as well, then when I made another one there it was. Now I swear that a garment I made for myself & even have wore it & laundered it, now I can not find it anywhere. Total mystery. Have been thinking about making and one.
|
That has happened to me several times. I usually find it behind my cutting table. Or in the trash. Usually I find it after I have made another. Good luck.
|
Have had this happen to me several times -- frequently the phone rings, I run to get the phone and the block goes ????? When packing up my sewing room for a move I was hoping to find the missing blocks, scissors, rulers, ... Now I hope to find them when I unpack since all of the lost and wayward items were put in a single box for safe keeping.:)
|
I have a group of ladies I sew with , they all know don't give it to me to keep safe it will disappear in my sewing room , it eats fabric , patterns, rulers, pins, starch, when I am creating I am messy ....I love it.
|
While i have not found that quilt block , i DID find the missing embroidery foot! It was put away in my machine feet storage box! Silly me. I swore that I had left it on top of the shelf above my machine where i leave accessories .

A similar thing happened to me. Never did find the missing block but I think I know what happened to it. The blocks were nicely stacked to the left of my sewing machine. Also on the left was my little waste can (aka: thread catcher). It's very possible that as I picked one of the blocks up, another one fell into the waste can. I discovered the block was missing after the garbage was picked up...
Now I check the waste can before tossing the contents into the household waste. Lesson learned. |
I posted a while back about losing a medium sized hand quilting hoop, it eventually turned up in the attic . I KNOW I did not put it up there and no one else in the house could have.
Now DH has lost one of his small piece cutting patterns, a triangle made of metal. He knew exactly where it fell, down the side of the sleep sofa . We turned it upside down, took everything out, shook everything out. It is GONE. The first few times it fell down there it just landed on the rug. This time it took a trip into the twilight zone. |
I too have a quilt thief, takes pattern, scissors, etc. Sometimes too funny
|
FINALLY! I was cleaning my sewing room and started under the bed and there between the bed and the wall on ghe floor was that missing block! Oh well!! Mystery solved. It must have fallen from the ironing board.

Well, of course you found it....you already made another, right!! I'd still blame it on the ghost!

Ok, found the missing applique sheet. The PC cord, still MIA. I need to start journaling where I put things! Losing a cord does not make any sense! Putting things where they belong would be a start! Hmmmmm
