I bought a bottle of glue in an accordion shape bottle at the LQS. It is so much easier to use. And I can refill it. I wouldn't be with out it. I use it for keeping the binding in place. A touch with the iron speeds the drying time.

I use a syringe and the accordion container. If you ever refilled ink for your printer cartridge, the squeeze accordion ink containers with the long thin tips are perfect for teeny tiny dots. For large basting I dilute the glue a tiny bit and hold it up high to squeeze squiggles all over the batting. I smooth out any blobs to cut down on drying time. I'm going to try the diluted glue in a spray bottle for my next quilt.

What kind of spray bottle does everyone use? The glue doesn't dry inside the sprayer part and ruin it?

I bought a new, larger bottle of glue today. Mine was a few years old so maybe it had thickened up, and maybe a bigger bottle will be easier for me to grip.

It's a bit more expensive, but try Roxanne's basting glue, the bottle is very flexible and you need not apply too much squeeze on it.

I dilute the Elmer's glue right in the bottle. You need not squeeze so hard when the glue is thinner from dilution.
