The one I use most for scrappy quilts is a medium gray green.

For scrap quilts, I use whatever bobbins I have filled and usually match the top thread, or just use ecru or tan.

I like the idea of a different colored bobbin thread. God know I do enough "unsewing"!

I use gray

white.....unless I am sewing black or another dark color....if I am piecing, usually whatever thread color I have works fine....bobbin thread for piecing is the same way, whatever I grab.....If I am fmq, I try to match, or will use white/lt. gray....sometimes I want the stitching to show and will use a contrasting color.....I guess I am saying I am not fussy for thread color when piecing...LOL

I have a cone of a light, sagey green that I use the most for piecing. It really does blend better than most other colors I've used.

blue gray for me.

Grays, browns, tans and khakis are what I favor. For light colored quilts I usually use white or some very light thread if I have it.

I use up all the odd thread colors I have in my thread box. :-)

I like to sew with 2 different colors, too. For the same reason. Do you use the lilac for lighter-colored quilts or for all misc. quilting?
