His heart was in the right place, just hadn't paid any real attention to the world of quilting.

Don't trade him in, he is a keeper!!!!

I love going to casinos. I also love quilting. When I first got started quilting I was a little hesitant to spend so much money. My hubby decided to encourage me. His theory was that quilting would be less expensive than playing the penny slots occasionally. Boy has he learned differently.

I had a similar experience one day with my husband. I was watching one of F&P's shows on TV and they were using a beautiful longarm. My husband happened to be close by and saw what they were doing and said "Hey, why don't you get one of those sewing machines!" I then told him the price range for any longarm and said an estimate of the high end one they were using. He got this "are you kidding" look on his face and walked away. That was about 3 years ago and not another word from him about getting one!!

My husband bought me a mid-arm and a frame as a wedding present. (we are geezer newlyweds.) Now our house is on the market because the only place to comfortably put the thing is in the living room. He asked if we would have have a living room again, and I told him only if we moved.

Ha! Now my frame is in a small bedroom, and I have zero room, while the house is on the market. Of course, the market is sloooowwwww here, so it has been 8 months so far. Damnit.

He says when we get settled in a new house with more room, we can look for a long arm. (I'm thinking on the lower end). He's a keeper. He looks at them at quilt shows with me, so he knows how much they cost. He's a definite keeper.

LOL!
When my DH found out how much a longarm costs he nearly fainted. After seeing me struggeling for years trying to quilt on my domestic machine he suprised me with one. I didn't know he started saving money for it and it took him a few years to do it. Luckily the kids left the nest and I had a place to put it. Don't give up hope......you may someday be wonderfully surprised also.
