Is this a good colour selection

I'm planning on making a quilt for a fundraising auction at the 4-H conference the end of March. What do you think of this? I'm thinking Warm Wishes or Jacob's Ladder or Twisted Garden (?) - a combination of snowball and boxed blocks. Not sure if it will be bed size or lap size.

I like the greenishyellow with the white and the clover fabric together or the dark green and the heart clover with the white, don't know about the purple just my opinion. have and make sure u post yyour pic.

erstan947 01-26-2014 04:22 PM

I think these selections would make a great 4H themed quilt. Keep us posted as you make it.

Windblown 01-26-2014 04:32 PM

Great 4H quilt colors, love the purple.

sewmom 01-26-2014 04:46 PM

I like the purple. Green and purple always go together.

ILoveToQuilt 01-26-2014 04:56 PM

Not sure of the purple and to me, the green fabric on the right is too blue. Just my opinion...

Purple is always right with green - adds a nice accent. I wish I could settle on 6 or 7 fabrics. Mine always have so many. I think you are on the right track.

mighty 01-26-2014 05:15 PM

I think they look great!

Daylesewblessed 01-26-2014 05:25 PM

I like the colors and prints you have chosen. I think a quilt made from them will appeal to 4-H auction bidders!

Jingle 01-26-2014 05:46 PM

Looks good to me. What pattern will you use?

I like them!

Jackie Spencer 01-26-2014 07:45 PM

Love your choices, especially the purple!!

Lori S 01-26-2014 07:59 PM

Not sure about the purple , its one of those colors that you like or don't. Maybe try dark blue.. for broader appeal.

michelleoc 01-26-2014 08:24 PM

Those look great together. Initially I was thinking that the purple wouldn't work, but then I realized that it could just be a perfect "pop" of color.

MadQuilter 01-26-2014 08:37 PM

Simple answer: Yes!

Personally, I'd not make a St. Pat's themed quilt for a fundraiser, specially after St. Pat's day.

I do like the colors, however.

I believe that SuzzyQ is seeing the two green leaf fabrics not as St. Patrick's fabrics ... but symbolic of 4-H!

SuzzyQ ... Great Plan! I like the purple with it for just that little bit of "pop"!! No matter what it is, anything 4-H'ish should sell well among all those with green in their veins!!! :) (and I can think of lots of potential buyers who will be there! I'll look forward to seeing it when you get it done ... and perhaps reading all about it, after the auction in the newsletter!

QuiltnNan 01-27-2014 05:21 AM

i made a snowball and nine patch for my daughter out of those colors and she just loves it!

winia 01-27-2014 05:27 AM

Too much green. Replace one of the greens with another color. That's my opinion only.

Novice.for.now 01-27-2014 05:55 AM

I think that will make a great quilt! If no one likes it there, send it to Kansas! Our 4-H is connected to Kansas State University. The K-State purple Wildcats, or Powercats!

scrapinmema 01-27-2014 06:11 AM

I think they will work great together.

lluke 01-27-2014 06:24 AM

Purple and green are complimentary colors on the color wheel - always a good combination!! I think this will work out beautifully.

sahm4605 01-27-2014 06:36 AM

I like them I would add another purple fabric maybe one with purple and green. That would help make them work together better.

joyce888 01-27-2014 06:39 AM

Good selection, really like the fabrics together.

I agree with Anita. You need a focus fabric and then three tonals for Warm Wishes. I am cutting one today for charity. They go together so quickly.

joyce blint 01-27-2014 09:24 AM

I'd substitute black on black for the purple.

nena 01-27-2014 09:30 AM

Love the colors. Just not sure about the green on the far left.

nena 01-27-2014 09:31 AM

Sorry I mean far right. DUH>

rburnitt 01-27-2014 09:35 AM

Looks good to me.

Sorry, I did not see 4-H, only St. Pat They are great colors

DebbieJJ 01-28-2014 12:53 AM

It has good contrast and will make a fantastic design on your quilt! Please be sure to show us what you make with it.

EvieD44 01-28-2014 04:18 AM

I absolutely love green and purple together...........go for it!

vivoaks 01-28-2014 04:22 AM

Yes! All those colors work well together!! On my computer, the green on the far right doesn't seem to go "perfectly" with the other greens, but depending on how and where it's used, it most likely won't make a big difference. I say "go for it!"

Elisabrat 01-28-2014 04:46 AM

too many cooks perhaps? lol.. ok I like the purple its just me .. would have gone yellow or an orange (like leprechaun hair lol). I think that would have been a nice POP but these will make a lovely quilt. make sure you share it with us!

azwendyg 01-28-2014 04:48 AM

I think it's going to look great! These colors and prints would work great for a 4H quilt, and the purple gives it just the right punch of color!

judi wess 01-28-2014 04:50 AM

Yummy color combo.

judylg 01-28-2014 05:06 AM

Nice color combination, the purple looks good and breaks up the green.

BrendaK 01-28-2014 05:51 AM

Can't wait to see the finished project. The colors look good to me. BrendaK

quilterpurpledog 01-28-2014 05:57 AM

Love your combination. It is perfect for 4H. It would be nice in any of the patterns you are considering. I think I would go for the lap size because everyone can use another lap quilt but might not think they need another bed quilt because of the commitment in a room. However, I would love it.
