For goodness sake, stop apologizing forthe fabric you are buying! If I could find what I wanted at WalMart, I would buy it in a New York minute.

You can buy fabric from Walmart.com for about $4 a yard. It is sold in two yard pieces and is very pretty fabric. I have not seen any solids, but they may be there. There are lots of other places on the Internet, and far from getting discouraged, you are more likely to get so fascinated you'll spend several hours enjoying looking at the infinite number of choices.

I can guarantee that once you get your fabric it into a quilt, no one will be asking how much you paid for the fabric and whether you got it at an LQS. People on this board are always bragging about getting a gazillion yards of fabric at an estate sale or garage sale or thrift store for low-ball dollars. Unless the manufacturer's or designer's name is on the selvage, they don't have anything to go on except the way the fabric feels to the touch (called 'hand') and whether they like color, pattern, etc.

Same deal at JoAnn's or WalMart or Hobby Lobby or any other place you can get fabric. Get what you can afford and love it. Our grandmothers and mothers used worn out clothing and feed sacks and their quilts are still keeping people warm.

Like the pattern and the pink.

I do love my Linkey!! (Lincoln) We have 2 but recentally admitted one is a Jack Russel/Pug not like his papers said. I love them anyway!! We have 4 puggles just in our neighborhood!

beware of joann's kona. it's very hit or miss. search 'kona cottons' from above.
