I have to disagree unless you were already planning a move. Although I would want to visit often, I can't imagine moving just for a quilt shop. At the rate they are closing you might be disappointed later.

Eleanor Burns has her shop real close by, too. Quilt in a day. It's up by Carlsbad...but further out.

I think it's a perfect reason! Rosie's is the best!!!!
|
I haven't been down to Rosie's in quite a while since I had to stop driving for health reason. I remember when she only had two of the store fronts. I had worried she might not have fared to well with so many LQS across America closing down. I think she is a smart cookie to expand into stores that the business had closed. I am sure her landlord is happy with her and she is probably getting a discount for being such a good long term tenant.

I used to live in So. Cal. OC and SD. I like it where I am the difference in gas prices and housing prices allows me to buy tons of fabric and we have some really nice quilt stores here :) I couldn't afford my large house with 2 sewing rooms if I was back in SD.

But you are only 97 miles from Mary Jo's!!!!!!!! (Exit 21 off 85) To me that is a pretty neat fabric store!

Well, make sure the pro's for moving are more than the con's for moving. You never know when a store might close it's doors.

I wasn't serious about moving because there is a great quilt shop. I love to visit San Diego but don't want to live there. It's just fun to think of living close to really nice quilt shops that I visit in my travels.

sounds like a good reason to move!!!!

Seems perfectly logical to me - a totally flawless idea : )
