I agree. This board is great for tips, socializing, and funny jokes. Thank you all. I am glad I found the Quiltingboard.

I am so grateful for everything people are pointing out: the friendship, the vast knowledge, the willingness to help, or even just commiserate! This is a great community, and I love being a part of it. I don't "pop up" as often on the Boards, but I'm here, reading the posts, and constantly learning something new. Today I am so grateful because I've been trying to make "fans" for a BOM project, and the only directions I received were to fold the fabric in half (from the template), sew across the top, and then turn it inside out. Somehow that was supposed to turn a flat topped piece of fabric into a pointed piece of fabric. I tried and tried, and nothing worked. Then I looked through the tutorials on this Board, and there was a gorgeous, step-by-step tutorial on making a fan mug rug. The point is, the author took me step-by-step, and photo-by-photo through the entire fan making process. Bingo! Light went on! Frustration gone! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! And if I hadn't found it in the tutorials, I'm sure my helpful Quilting Board friends would have helped me out. What a wonderful education I'm getting, and among such wonderful friends! Nothing else has ever compared.

Gratitude

I love all the links to sewing tutorials and all the sewing and quilting tips. Also I like to hear everyone's opinion on different products related to sewing and quilting.

I wanted to take a minute to thank all of you here on this board for the free sharing of information on products and techniques and sources. I've received the equivalent of a PhD by reading the posts.

For days now, I've been searching on You Tube for a quilt video I wanted to make. I lost it after a late Saturday night's browsing and had to do a system restore on my computer, which took out my history. This morning, in reading a new post, I went to one of the suggested links and found the thread that took me to the lost video. Thank you!!

I got to thinking about all the good things I've gotten from this board and so far, my favorites include: pinmoors, Triangulation software (oh the joy!), the June Tailor ruler (make my own jelly rolls), Bailey's longarm quilting machines (in the dream category.)

What have you found that has made your life, as a quilter sooo much better by finding it on this board?

I feel that I have so many new friends, people that I have never met but are willing, helpful, knowledgeable and loving. Thank you to all my friends that I have never met and the couple that I actually know. Sewists/quilters are the nicest people I have ever known. Love and hugs to all!

everybody on this board is so helpful. Even when I ask a dumb question, I get answers that solve my problem, or at least enough information to solve it myself. everyone is so friendly and helpful. It's just like going to a sewing spa to be surrounded by friends who are always willing to help!

Last year I fought cancer & had 4surgeries, chemo & radiation. It wasn't easy but fortunately I got through easier than a lot people. I had always thought I had many friends. Well I was wrong. It was uncomfortable for them so they didn't bother. Even though I didn't post that often, quilting board made me feel part of a group. Ive learned so much & even though you don't know me, you have meant a great deal to me. Guess you're my not so imaginary friends. Thank you all & God bless.

The inspiration from all the talented artists. And yes, I said artist. The kind words from everyone who view my pictures, my head has grown so big. The wealth of knowledge, techniques, opinions, and most of all, a place where I can come and not feel alone. Me being a man breaking into what was traditionally a woman hobby I felt alone. This bored gave me the courage to reach out to others and join two guilds.

The friendships are priceless!

You said it all! Thank you.

Inspiration, the willingness to share knowledge and shortcuts. The wonderful people on the board who understand exactly what we get from quilting or sewing for our families. The caring given and recieved for our heartaches and triumphs. The advice without judgement when we need it. I think I could go on all day. It's my favorite place to go whenever I sign on to the web. THANKS EVERYONE!
