Great find, they look to be all hand pieced, can't wait to see the finished top

I say sew them together just as you have them. The colors are great and you will have a one-of-a-kind quilt. Great colors and great find. Tks. for sharing. G

Would love to see a picture of the finished top when you decide what to do with them.

Great blocks!! I have heard them called Crossed Canoes, too.

Very nice find! The name I have seen for that pattern is Crossed Canoes.

Yep! Sashing would really pull them together and make a stunning quilt top! Go for it!! Black is always safe!!!

Very neat!!

Great find!!!!

I really like this pattern. Great find!

Those are fabulous! They look like canoes! Maybe double-cross canoes!? What about a multicolored babric or even a batik? Is do a thin sashing. Even a neutral color would work! Can't wait to see it finished!!

The pattern is Crossed Canoes. And, yes, it was very popular in the 60s.

Lucky lady!!!! Love the fabrics and block pattern.

I like buying vintage quilt blocks and for $5 that was a great deal.
|
Way cool! You scored!
|
yep, frame them with strips all around to make them all the same size. then maybe put them on point....
|
What a lovely bit of nostalgia. Don't you wonder at the story behind them?

What beautifully done blocks! I like them 'as is' without sashing. Might try rearranging a few times to get best color placement, but I don't think I'd add sashing. I always rearrange at least a dozen times!!!

I found 21 blocks, hand pieced and all complete. At a flea market run by the VFW. Gave a whopping $5 for them all. Trying to figure out how to arrange them in a top. Very unusual fabrics, figure they are from the 60's by some of the fabrics. Doesn't matter to me.....I just loved them and had to have them. They are 10.5 to 11 inches each.
