So happy for you. We are currently going through hardship because hubby is out of work for health reasons...been out over 2 months now and they said he couldn't even apply til out 6 mos. then takes a long while after that! Of course I don't work because of living with leukemia and rhumatoid arthitis; so has definitely changed the way I live. I have all I need, just can't do all I want to.
Hooray for all of you who needed it and got it. God Bless |
Great news.

That is wonderful news. I am sure things were getting real scary. Just takes so darn much time to get it straightened out
|
Congratulations from me as well! I know the two of you must be relieved.

Glad for him getting his SS.

It's a great relief isn't it? One of my dr's said sarcastically he noticed how all his patients didn't start to get better until after they got their SSDI! It's so much extra stress. I'm of the opinion that they try to wear you out and figure you're so sick you'll stop fighting. They obviously didn't know me very well.
OTOH, I was eligible for Medicare as they back dated me to original application date, plus I had gotten 2 raises before I even got my first check. If you had to get an attorney involved they might hold back some money for the fees, but they will send you a letter about it. My back check was 3 years worth, just about replaced all the $ we spent out of savings. |
that is some great news

YES PRAISE THE LORD !!!

Been thru it myself & I can tell you that here in IL. the wait is close to 3 yrs. It's never easy. Your govt. does this draggged out process with the hope that you will give up along the way.It is said that it usually makes those who are trying to fool 'em, drop out. But it does all of us with a legitimate case a lot of harm & costs us a lot of needless money in the process.
