Maybe go in with neighbors or friends to share the large bags so you have a manageable amount.

Whole wheat flour and cornmeal go rancid fairly rapidly--better to keep these in the freezer if possible or use them up as fast as you can!

that is why you do not put them where they get warm and yes the eggs are often in there, but since I have all mine in a pantry closet that is on an outside wall, it doesn't seem to hatch them.

I know I tried to put rice in it's original bag in the freezer once and it came out with some mold in it and I had to toss it, but have had good luck with the flour in the freezer, I keep red beans in a food safe Plastic Bucket's.

Well actually the truck drivers are talking about striking . And not just the owner-ops but mainly company drivers because of low wages per miles. Not a bad idea to stock up when you see a buy. Heads up to you all incase they go thru with this. Yes it will be worse then back during the strike they had. From a former driver and wife of a working trucker!!

But the real issues this has started over truthfully is , they once again want to change the laws and hours , the truckers can drive.

We can get flour in flour sacks year-round. There is a mill near here that packages their flour in fabric all the time, and I have purchased it that way for a while now. Unfortunately, I don't use enough flour to get more than 2 or 3 bags a year.

well if I could find them I would buy them! I buy bulk sizes anyway.
