You might check with your local church for a Ladies Aide that meets each week, I have one at my church and the ladies have taught me alot and are always ready to help and make suggestions on making my quilting better. Until I asked I was not aware that the aide was there.

There is a whole lot of getting into the "old biddies" in this thread and as an older member of the board, I don't think I like it much. It is true that there are some people who are "know-it-alls," but I have not found all of them to be older than 60.

Some of the comments here have reminded me of the 60's mantra--"Don't trust anyone over 30."

Come on, young women. Put on your big girl panties and go to those meetings and bring some fresh ideas and some leadership instead of sitting in the corner pouting.

I don't belong to a guild but do get together once a week at a local school with friends I have been quilting with for approx 19 years.

Amen to that!!!! The older you get the more independent you get or want to get. I belong to a sewing group. They are nice group but I don't toooo involved with groups of any kind. Been there and done it so I keep it very low key.

This is my guild...

My guild meets at the church where several guild members attend regularly. We pay only $150 per year for a once-a-month 3-4 hour meeting. Try that route to find a meeting room.

Keep looking ... my niece used the conference room at a car dealership once a month to work on charity quilts ... have you tried to schedule a room at a school after school is out ... room at a senior center.

Do you like it?

I belong to several, but most of them are out of town. Even out of state...

The one here in town I just dread going to...tonight is guild night and I just do not feel like going...though I do have obligations to being there!

How sad is that?

Tonight was our guild night, too. You could always come to Pryor (about 30 min from Tulsa)! I'm the president this year and we just have a great group (about 70 present) of ladies.

I did this wrong, I meant to add my comment to the fact that I did what everyone else wanted for 50 years. NOT doing that anymore. I am OK with my ideas, if you are not, oh well. :D
