plaids or solids are always a guy fabrics

Man you quilters are good, I love them all.......... I have a son-in- law that helps me with every thing I can`t do myself. And I have been canning & freezing all the things he likes, but a quilt (any one) shown here is a great idea.

This pattern was NOT that hard, just had to follow the directions, all done in sections. If you are interested would be happy to send you the pattern......

If you've already got the fabric, I would pick a pattern made up of various rectangles - like a YBR or a turning twenty. If you've got a good variety of fabrics in mind, lots of the Bonnie Hunter patterns would work up great for a guy. You can find them at http://www.quiltville.com.

One of the prettiest ones I ever saw done was a Pink/Black print and a black/pink print with an eyelet lace in the middle. (Sissy, take note and hint hint hint!!!!)

Most Traditional Rail Fences were three rails, though of course, there's lots of twists and possibilities where people have added rails or combined a rail fence with focus fabric blocks or stars, etc.

I like Fat Friday for a guy quilt. There are several advantages to the pattern, you don't waste anything when you cut your pieces, and once you've cut what you need, the remainder of your pieces go into making a Candy Bar Quilt that is also included with the Fat Friday pattern
