Had to improvise

my quilting area. Had trouble with this latest quilt using my usual L shape setup. So rearranged some things and came up with this. So far seems to be working great. This is not the first queen quilt I have done on this DSM, but for some reason had issues with this one. Am still going to get a extension table for it. Being a retired widow on a fixed income one has to do with what one has. :D

Looks like you have the whole quilt supported and that works best. As long as the cat doesn't decide to jump up on his favourite spot, you should be good.:D

I have him pretty well trained so if he heads for the quilt I tell him NO and he will stay off. At least while I am looking.;)

My sewing room is cobbled together...works for me! I don't think my machine would sew any straighter in a expensive cabinet!

Have you considered suspending the quilt? It would take less space and actually works better than spreading it out. I will provide a link to a commercial system (Jenoop quilt suspenders) you can purchase, but several people have built their own for about $30 out of PVC:

Looks good to me, I'm in UK and my problem is space, I have a small sewing room, a gal has to do what a gal has to do

Looks like a good set up. Love the furry assistant!!

It doesn't matter what you use, if it works for you. Some can afford nice cabinets and tables, some can't.

I like your setup. It is very similar to what I have. It makes quilting so easy. I adore your assistant. Wish I had one but the apartment management would be very unhappy.
