I just started doing blocks with points, and I have the same frustration! I also had to walk away and just tell myself that it was only a sample and a practice and to walk away!

Well I walked away and the points are looking better than I thought. Now I have a different fustration with the same blocks. No fear though, i'm not letting it defeat me. I'm just walking away until that stress drops then going back to look at it from a differnt perspective. It's working and so are my seam rippers.

Pins are your friend when it comes to matching points. I also found that the points don't necessarily abide by the 1/4" rule.
