I am I guess in that fustration stage when you are learning to match your points. I was working on peicing a top and my point won't or don't seem like they want to line up. Checked and double check measurements and sewing and it still isn't working. I could scream. Will go back to it later.

That is the best thing to do! Don't be too hard on yourself, you will always find flaws in your work but others will only enjoy the beauty and appreciate the hard work.
|
I remember the first points I did. Some turned out with the 1/4" seam above the point, others my point tip was sewn into the seam. It gets better. You did the right thing by walking away from it. You'll think more clearly later when you come back and your mind is fresher. Good luck.

Oh I know how frustrating that can be. I'm sorry you are having such a hard time with it. Give it a rest and maybe next try it will line up.
|
Sometimes it really pays to just walk away. When you go back hopefully you will see what is happening. This happens to me if I am too tired when I am trying to work on something that takes a lot of concentration.

Once I stopped using a thickish thead (Star) and switched to Sew Fine, my quarter inch seam was perfect. You can measure til the cows come in but if you are using a thick thread, you will always be frustrated. Can you move your needle over to the right? It is amazing how much space thread can take up When you press the seams to the side.
|
I know how flustrating that can be. Sometime if you leave it alone for a while and go back it will be better.
|
 I know the feeling. Sorry you are having such a hard time.

"Walk Away Renee" (old song but I love the title).

I just finished 128 star blocks, so I sooooooo sympathize with you! Great points on MOST of the blocks, but some just went wonky on me no matter what I did. Sometimes it's the thread weight, sometimes it's the fabric weight, sometimes it's just me not being careful! *sigh*
