I didn't used to be able to do anything but watch the road to keep from getting car sick.. but over the years either I've gotten better or we drive cars that have a much smoother ride... so now.. while we travel the interstates, which are fairly straight forward and without too many curves, I can do just about anything I want.. so I always always have something in my hand... I've been wishing I could have internet... hummmm

I tried to hand quilt in the car...too many bumps and I kept stabbing my finger.

I always have something to work on when traveling with DH. To get from our place in Idaho to our place in Wyoming it is a 14 hour trip one way. I do a lot of applique work, also finish binding on quilts, hand peice hexagons or make lots of yo yo's for a bed runner I am making. I love it. Makes the time go by faster, I get lots done doing my most favorite thing. QUILTING.

I can do both (if Im riding) but it makes me sleepy, not sick to my stomach and I usually fall asleep sharet

We put in an audio book, he drives I stitch.

I love to ride and do handwork while my DH is driving. The only problem is he gets sleepy (I think he really just likes to look at the country side) and then I have to take over. LOL
|
I used to get car sick but seems the older I get I can read or sew. I do one or the other while riding. I don't drive unless I just have to.
|
I always take along projects. Keeps me from telling DH how to drive. good for both of us.
|
I'm also one of those that gets car sick unless I'm looking out the window. But how else could I "back seat drive" unless I'm watching what my husband is doing????

Yep - hand-quilt and hand piece, but not applique. Have one whole cloth that I call my "travel quilt." It has been hre and there in AZ, and also to Laughlin (quite a few times), Las Vegas, NM, OK, and TX. Need to travel more so that I can get it finished. LOL
