Hanging a Wall Hanging

1 Attachment(s)
I have finished the top of a wall hanging for a friend and need to figure out how to make something to use for hanging it before I proceed - press, add the backing and quilt it. I would PREFER not to add a sleeve that requires me to do any hand sewing :) and it seems there are other methods out there somewhere - I just don't remember what they are or how to do them. The wall hanging is about 18 " wide X 24" Long. (Photo is in wrong direction). Any suggestions ??? Thanks in advance ....

This method works well for mini quilts and no hand-work :)

If it is small, sewing a folded triangle of fabric into the binding of the two top corners works well. Then you can insert a narrow wooden dowel along the entire top edge, each end hooked inside the triangles, and the dowel can rest on nails or picture frame hooks.

I always hang my small wall quilts using soda can tabs. Depending on width , I sew 2 or 3 tabs to the back of the wall hanging.

Thanks! This is exactly the info I needed.

When wallhanging is finished, I just use Command strips to attach to wall. No handsewing, no dowels, no nails in the wall. Easy peasy!

Sometimes I use the triangles and dowel other times I use command strips, both look good.

I've been using clear push pins for small wall quilts, but I have a lot of holes on the walls now. So I don't recommend using them!
