The egg idea is so cute, and the opportunity to use all the stitches that I never use on my sewing machine? I need to add this to my "to do" list.

This looks to me like a Stack and Slash type of block. Just stack 6 fifferent colors together and slash into 6 different sections. There is a demo on you tube using 4 pieces of fabric, but it will give you an idea if you have never seen it before. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsSp-FuZ1Ao

I did a crazy patch halloween block for a swap here on the board and it was so fun to do. These blocks look as though they are all the same but made with different fabrics. That is pretty cool. I bet it is even a templet you use that is a paper piecing. I think this is the perfect opportunity to get to use some of those great built in stitches on your machine.
I love the whole idea of this egg place mat. Thanks for sharing a picture with us. This will be a great project to use up some of those bright scraps screaming at me. |
