Not sure how it would look for a baby quilt but was curious how the batik would look in a D9P. I have tried searching on here but couldn't find one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Thanks in Advance,
Angie

I think it would be beautiful.

ontheriver 06-11-2011 06:50 AM

Never done D9P but I like all quilts done in batiks. I don't see why they wouldn't work.

tealady 06-11-2011 06:53 AM

I agree. I think it would be lovely!

AngieS 06-11-2011 06:55 AM

I got some batik to makes some caps for a 11 year old girl that has Luekemia and had left over fabric. Then I had some that I didn't want to mix with regular fabric. I cut them into squares and thought this morning as I was laying in bed....hmmmm how would that look?

Forgot to mention I've never done a D9P. ;)

redquilter 06-11-2011 06:59 AM

That's a great idea. It will look beautiful. Why not?

Melrose R 06-11-2011 07:20 AM

I've never seen a batik I didn't like!

thimblebug6000 06-11-2011 07:41 AM

My friend did one in the bali pops strips and it was gorgeous. The squares are very small though.

I would just plan it out and do one block and see how you feel. I think that it would be fab but that is just me I love batiks. that is actually mostly what I buy now. Unless I am making a quilt for someone specifically.

irishrose 06-11-2011 08:04 AM

Someone posted a block yesterday done in only two colors and one a pastel batik. It was lovely.

I found it. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-129466-1.htm

Sadiemae 06-11-2011 08:15 AM

Have you checked the gallery for D9P?

Why not? Have you ever seen anything in batik that isn't beautiful. Go for it. Can wait to see it done.

Nancy from North Carolina gave a tutorial on a D9P in batiks a little while back. It was gorgeous. Sorry, I don't have the link.

verna2197 06-12-2011 04:25 AM

I discovered D9P only yesterday morning and spent the rest of the day sewing them. I have batik charm squares and wanted to practice first. Batik will be beautiful. Blocks yesterday were completely random and batik will be too.

I saw that picture yesterday and it was lovely. Do you think it would look okay with each block being a different batik fabric?

Really, really delighted with the Gallery quilts...did not know this feature was available until I "searched" it! This Board never fails to amaze me! Thanks so much for the clue.

Hi, I have done a batik baby quilt which I think looked very sweet. Not a D9P but it may give you some idea of what it could look like.
http://www.quiiltingboard.com/t-82466-1.htm. Look forward to seeing what you achieve. Batiks will work in whatever you choose I think.

This is a D9P that I did for my daughters Handbell Director as a going away gift. I think it came out really good.
