Hello
I do not think you will find Betty Cotton's books in the library. As I am an instructor perhaps I can sell you one of mine. Which book are you looking for Book 1 or 2? Mrs Cotton Theory |
I'm working on my fifth Cotton Theory quilt and I like the process. I don't cut everything out first though and just do it along the way. I also don't quilt the pieces as densely as recommended. The quilt comes out softer with more drape that way.

Hello
Well done on your fifth project. Any pictures?? Betty Cotton always says the more the project is handled the more it will drape and soften up. I love her batting as when you use it with a steam iron there is no need to pin the projects before quilting. |
Hello Ellen
Any photos of your Courthouse step quilt? Sounds wonderful. Well done. |
Well done for trying it next week but it can be addictive!!

There is so much good information on the quilting board we will never have time to read it all. I absolutely learn something everytime I sign on. As always, thank-you for the knowledge. |
I saw this method online awhile back: QAYG with no hand sewing...sounds good to me, but haven't tried it.

I am from Green Bay, Wisconsin and I think we are going to have a class in September this year on the Cotton Theory. Can't wait...Looks like something I would like to learn.

Hello
Yes, that is another quilt as you go technique after looking at the pictures. The Cotton Theory one is quilting each rectangle and block and then joining them together using one inch seams. |

Once you take a class you will be hooked! |
