I think that it may be time for a quilting fabric garage sale. My daughter and I are having one this coming summer. Getting rid of some fabrics that I have grown tired of and make some money to buy some fabric that is more to my current quilting tastes. My tastes have changed over the last 10 years from traditional to more bright and geometric styles. I feel so weighted down by the fabrics I have now.

LOL, yours is worse than mine but not by much... you have more fabric for which I am envious !

I'm guessing that you straighten it up and it looks pretty good, then you start a quilt, pull out fabrics, audition borders etc and it becomes a mess again? That's what happen to me.

Yep, I know your sewing room well and I do have a barn load of fabric in my barn studio!
Working with fabric at my job doesn't help much either when it comes to trying to keep from adding to my stash.

Have a garage sale in the spring. We farm in Oklahoma so I will be in that area in May. I'm sure I could use more in my sewing room.
I had a similar problem a few years ago. I took everything out and got big boxes and storage containers. Put all my quilting fabric by color in several boxes. My skirt fabric in another container and if I decided I wouldn't ever make it, that went into garage sale. I sold a lot in one day and gave the rest to a retirement center for crafts.

Just think of all the great insulation you have and it's right there in your sewing room - it's probably helping to lower your heating bills. Don't sell it - keep the insulation!

Oh... How do you walk in there? Where do you sit? Where's the sewing machine? Have you ever been claustrophobic in the room? Is there any ROOM in your sewing room? Kind of ribbing you about it, but, and I'm serious here, do you have your own personal order to it? Kind of like a heaped up desk but yet there's a kind of order to it?
