When working on a quilt that I dislike, I usually have another more enjoyable project going at the same time. Work a little on one---then work a little on the other.
Pretty soon the hated quilt isn't so much of a chore anymore.

I hate all my quilts at a given point I FIND THAT I DO TWO QUILTS AT A Time AND STAY WITH THEM 2 WEEKS ON AND OFF .They both do get done but it does take longer.I am making queen sized at this time and alternating between paper piecing and a simple pattern.

That happens to me, I try working on a small side project that I like to dilute the anxiety and resentment.

I have UFO's that I probably won't finish for the same reason--don't like the looks of it. So, yes this happens to most of us. It might help if you were to devote only so much time a week to this project and give yourself off time to do something else sewing or not related. The break might help it feel less of a burden. good luck!:)

I've been "working" on one that I can't stand since last summer. The top is done but needs squaring up/trimming, simple borders put on and then finishing. I think a big part of the problem is that I agreed to make the quilt but don't like the recipient. I have set a goal to give it this year as a Christmas gift....I gave the top last year so I need to give the finished quilt this year.

I done 2 back to back last Christmas Major color for both quilts was- Red -All the way thru I grumbled and groaned -cursed and kicked But the hugs and smiles I recieved were so worth it I'd do it again So go finish that quilt The results are PRICELESS

Unless there is some reason you have to finish this quilt, don't. The whole idea behind quilting (or any hobby for that matter) should be about creativity and enjoyment. If you are really hating working on it that much, you can't be enjoying yourself. Some things are better left unfinished.
