Bless your heart... Just think about how your DB will love it! Maybe that will help with the quilting blues.

I am currently working on one I totally hate. It is taking me forever just because I dread even looking at it. I know some hospice patient will need it and might even like it but I wish I had never started it.

Using a collection of 84 chicken kitchen towels all one of a kind I made 2 queen sized quilts for my husband. First turned out perfect second one quilting got bunched up behind and I did not notice. All work done by hand. Did not finish the binding on the second one yet but intend to try and slash and slip stitch the backing to flatten out during the winter months. Too warm now to do this heavy thing over my lap. Good luck to you just remember you work is the best ever the pattern is his choice. All quilts are made with love.

I made two lap quilts for my family room chairs, I liked the fabric until I cut it and started sewing it together, I thought that I would have to donate them to a home for the blind, I was so disappointed. But after I finished them I loved them. when everything came together they were great. So remember things change. Good luck and let us see when you are done.

My DB was always talking about my quilts. I made him a quilt in his favorite colors. I choose a fancy quilting patter to hand quilt. It was queen size. He died about 3 yrs later. My quilt was on his bed when he died. Think how much interest he showed in helping with the pattern. Yeah, Db are worth it all. Show him you love him while you can.

I have one that is only 9 blocks, and it will likely never be finished. It was a block of the month class, and fabric choice was not an option....everyone got the same fabric. That should have been my first red flag....it is all dark batiks,(only one lighter one), and I am not a batik fan. Had I been able to choose my own fabrics, it would have been finished ages ago. Now it is sitting with only the first 3 blocks done. Since it was for me, I don't care if it ever gets done. Maybe one day. :(
