Thank you all! Just do something is maybe a good start. I am so happy not oddly alone on this .. never happened to me before. I do agree..the mess knowing a busy month ahead does not help either! I don't have a sewing room...living room. Thank you all!

This happens to me, often. Take a break, for a few days. Do something totally different, in the meantime. I usually either crochet or read a book. After a few days or so, you'll be itching to get back to your sewing machine. :)

I think we sometimes become over-saturated with projects, then just need a chance to clear our heads, before diving in, again.

I finished a couple of big quilts and then started another and couldn't do it. That's been about two weeks ago. A long time for me. I go in my sewing room everyday, but I can't make myself do anything. I have lots of projects to do, but I don't want to do any of them. I am in a funk. I even have a little bitty quilt that I could make in a couple of hours and that seems too overwhelming to me. I think I need to wait until I can't wait to get back in there and sew again. I've been sewing for months and months and I think I overdid it. Now I need to do something else for a while, like come and read The Quilting Board.

Sometimes when I am in a sewing slump, I clean and oil all my machines. I clean and organize my threads. I do a few blocks on my ongoing scrap quilt. I flip through a few quilt magazines or cruise some web sites to see if anything inspires me. I go through my bucket list quilts and see if I feel like knocking one off the list.

Happens to everyone from time- to -time, nothing wrong with taking a break :) you just need to tell yourself it is ok . Sometimes when you get overwhelmed you get stuck in that mod and it just seems like the hole gets deeper by the day. As others mention maybe start something small/fast and enjoy the feeling of accomplishment.

As for the clutter/messy sewing rooms- don't look at it as a WHOLE room that needs fixing- look at it as a small section. This shelf needs folding , this drawer needs organizing, one thing a day .

Rome wasn't built in a day - take time to stop and smell the roses , enjoy the small victories - don't make it a "Chore" , relax and enjoy , Make it fun again
