Have a laugh on me

Thought I was done with my main quilt top, just needed the borders. Turns out I was just done for the day. Time to do something else. The unsewing will begin tomorrow.

KenmoreGal2 05-25-2015 08:03 AM

Oh no!!!!!

ManiacQuilter2 05-25-2015 08:10 AM

OH dear, that is why I love my design wall.

tessagin 05-25-2015 08:18 AM

Oh no! It'll be fabulous when you fix the 3 corners to match the 4th corner. The upper left corner of the quilt is the right way, right? NO? Oh ok! Repair a corner or mop up a quart of olive oil. I'll trade you places.

QuiltingHaven 05-25-2015 08:54 AM

Oh, so sorry....and we all understand (at least those of us who admit it). It won't take that long and you will have a beautiful quilt and you will always have a very interesting discussion about the picture of the quilt. Happy Memorial Day!

PaperPrincess 05-25-2015 09:04 AM

Ah, those trick riders!

Dina 05-25-2015 09:23 AM

Well, phooey!!!! I feel your pain. It sure is a beautiful quilt though, and Luke is going to love it.

I swear there is an invisible gremlin that somehow rotates pieces while I'm moving them between my layout and sewing machine!

He comes to your house too? I'm thinking of setting out traps.

lynnie 05-25-2015 09:49 AM

how terrible, but it's beautiful, good thing you didn't start to quilt it.

Tartan 05-25-2015 10:10 AM

It's going to look great once you turn the other blocks!

MadQuilter 05-25-2015 10:12 AM

Yep, I chuckled but only because I've been there myself.

quiltingcandy 05-25-2015 10:15 AM

I'm impressed that you found it before you started quilting. That can be one of those things you look at and you know something isn't right but your brain plays tricks on you and you go ahead and start with the quilting. Just have a good laugh and be happy you found it now.

mirish2 05-25-2015 10:15 AM

Been there, done that. You are fortunate that you haven't started to quilt it. I have a friend that made a small quilt, quilted and hung it in her office, of course, someone noticed the error right away. She wasn't aware of the problem until they mentioned the error. She just refers to it as her "humility quilt."

Sync 05-25-2015 10:20 AM

I'm laughing with tears in my eyes ..... been there, done that, got the T-shirt.

Doggramma 05-25-2015 11:07 AM

Whoops....!

Good one!! Pray tell....what kind of traps?? :)

judy363905 05-25-2015 12:10 PM

On the bright side, all four are in the same group of blocks. Hope it is an easy fix for you. :)

mike'sgirl 05-25-2015 12:17 PM

I'm so sorry you have to rip anything out. I love your quilt, being a horse loving, former Texan.😀

juneayerza 05-25-2015 01:59 PM

Let me know where to buy those traps.

gigi712 05-25-2015 03:38 PM

OMG, I'm laughing so hard..... with you, not at you! It really tickled my funny bone because I made some major mistakes on a quilt I'm working on now and when I saw yours, I found I could laugh enough for both of us. As a Texan, I love the quilt and the trick ponies and riders...... :)

BLAP 05-25-2015 04:40 PM

Been there, done that! (unfortunately more than once) Just one more challenge to keep your life interesting.

Leslie333 05-25-2015 05:27 PM

Ugg....been there. Sorry you have to do the ripping, but glad you found it now and not later after quilting. It's a great quilt!

kindleaddict63 05-25-2015 05:34 PM

feel your pain....done something similar myself, annoying is not the word! It will be a beautiful quilt when you get that sorted.

KristenJ 05-25-2015 05:37 PM

I have done this with every quilt I've done I think! LOL. I do believe there is something that happens from the "design" floor to my machine. It just cant be ME?!?!?!

QuiltnLady1 05-25-2015 05:38 PM

At least with your blocks it is obvious. Did it with several Ohio stars that had fussy cut centers -- unfortunately they were not together. It's good you are going to give it a day before you rip it.

cathyre 05-25-2015 05:43 PM

been there done that ...know the feeling

Angel Bear 05-25-2015 06:07 PM

I'm not laughing. I hate ripping out stitches, although as often as I do it, you'd think it was my favorite part of quilting.

I so agree. I'm going to watch this board for those gremlin traps. I used a design wall as well as graph paper and colored pencils. I am thanking a merciful God that I hung it back on the design wall to take a pic before adding the two borders. There could be much more crying and ripping than there is.

Tom W 05-25-2015 06:54 PM

Oh, I've done that one before.. even with a design wall I managed to turn one whole section around while putting it together. Tomorrow is another day :-)

One Gremlin? He must be the one who went out on his own, because I think the rest of his extended family live at my house... Faykilgore, love your quilt! And it is those trick riders-just straighten them out and it will be perfect!

mountain deb 05-25-2015 07:19 PM

It's that darn cheshire cat that done it.

nwm50 05-26-2015 02:40 AM

The only trap I know that would work is coffee or brownies laced with sleeping sedative, setting it near your project?? Lol
When done, that quilt is going to be really cute!

Vicki1212 05-26-2015 02:52 AM

Oh no! I've done that before and have felt so frustrated at having to fix it that I've also put the quilt away till the next day. Best thing to do! The next day I tackled it refreshed and it wasn't as bad as I had thought. Good luck!

qwkslver 05-26-2015 03:17 AM

Bless you for your sense of humor. Been there, done that. I don't get terribly upset over things like that. It shows us we are human. It's beautiful.

just_the_scraps_m'am 05-26-2015 03:18 AM

sweet little ponies! just a minor fix -- only two seams...it could always be worse! i would call that a "slight" problem compared to the fixes i have had to make!

Reba'squilts 05-26-2015 03:21 AM

Dang...don't you just hate it when you do something like that. Going to be pretty cool when done!! ( fixed)!!!!

Taughtby Grandma 05-26-2015 04:08 AM

It happens to the best of us! haha I like the quilt

cresseyriver 05-26-2015 04:23 AM

You are a lady after my own heart. I have done more ripping than sewing. Have a great day.

toverly 05-26-2015 04:32 AM

When something like that happens to me, I blame the cat.
