No, not on purpose, like you ran out and needed more....

You go to the store, "oh isn't that pretty!! I will get some".
Then you get home and start to put it away and see the same thing that you bought maybe last year. This has happened to me at least three times in the past couple of years.

Maybe it's Old-timers.

erstan947 06-21-2010 04:33 PM

At least your are consistant in your choices.

bearisgray 06-21-2010 04:35 PM

Yes.

ncsewer 06-21-2010 04:36 PM

If you like it that much, you had better make a quilt!

Jim's Gem 06-21-2010 04:39 PM

Yes, several times.

SuziC 06-21-2010 04:39 PM

Now you have enough to make something really Great!!

sharon b 06-21-2010 04:40 PM

 Yep

But I just think it means I really liked the fabric   LOL

cjomomma 06-21-2010 04:42 PM

Hand waving in the air.

montanablu 06-21-2010 04:44 PM

Another hand waving in the air! Sad is when I purchase the same fabric WITHIN A MONTH of purchasing it the first time!! Sad,so sad...

Chele 06-21-2010 04:45 PM

I'm with ya girl! Do you think we'll remember that we have that fabric?! LOL!

kay carlson 06-21-2010 04:46 PM

Yep --- go figure :-)

quiltilicious 06-21-2010 04:48 PM

Yes. Yes I have. On three separate occasions for this one really nice blue and gold fabric!

Sorting the stash periodically helps with that, BTW.

justme 06-21-2010 04:57 PM

Yes... but I did it within the same week... lol

pollyjvan9 06-21-2010 05:10 PM

I have bought the same fabric more than once because I thought it was so pretty, then get home and find I already have some.

MadQuilter 06-21-2010 05:12 PM

Yep - I have multiple sizes of an olive-green paisley. Didn't even notice until I sorted my stash. Left me really confused for a minute - lol

aliaslaceygreen 06-21-2010 05:12 PM

All.The.Time.

isnthatodd 06-21-2010 05:19 PM

Yes, Yes, Yes. But since I really like the fabric, and I'm sure I didn't buy enough the first time, that's ok.

grammyp 06-21-2010 05:35 PM

I certainly have. I just take it as a sign that I have good taste in fabric.

tolepainter54 06-21-2010 05:37 PM

Yep, more than once.

Beachbound 06-21-2010 05:38 PM

Me too, when I saw this pink batik I bought a yard....a few weeks later I bought what I thought was 3 different pinks but one was the same. No worries since I absolutely love it! Part has already found it's way into my DGD quilt as appliqued hearts. I love batiks!

Sharon321 06-21-2010 05:40 PM

Just shows you have really great taste. Bought one fabric in the different colors over the span of a year. Forgot I had bought the other colors until I put the new fabric in my stash. Still love that print.

franie 06-21-2010 05:40 PM

Is old timers related Altzheimers? I usually do not duplicate unless it goes on sale or I need more.

Yes. That is what I called it when I was a kid.

JJs 06-21-2010 05:46 PM

Yes I have, in fact one such instance is a perfect example of Walmart fabric versus 'shop quality'.....
I didn't remember buying the shop quality fabric - got it at Fabric by the pound... got the wm stuff on the markdown from the quilt of the month..
exact same pattern, same colors, etc VASTLY different 'hand'... the wm stuff is stiff, cheap feeling, the other is really nice and the pattern is crisper, the wm is 'vague'..
you wouldn't notice except when they are side by side.
and makes me wonder why I got the wm stuff in the first place - the only thing I can figure is I got it at a bargain price with the intention of using it for a back or something...

Lori S 06-21-2010 05:59 PM

Oh yeh!!! Did it a few times. Once with an ugly fabric , Bought it on the internet .. made the mistake of not enlarging the small little sample to as large as I could make it . It looked good in small scale.
The other times it worked out well cause I really liked the fabric. I don't know why but I tend to do it more with batiks.

mrspete 06-21-2010 06:02 PM

Oh yessssssss, I agree with grammyp and Sharon321....I'm good!

snicker

redrummy 06-21-2010 06:32 PM

C.Cal Quilt Girl 06-21-2010 06:44 PM

Oh no, not the only one, have done also sure glad I liked it... ya know a good neutral :)

Gal 06-21-2010 09:28 PM

Hasn't anyone ever had seconds or thirds of the most delicious cream chocolate gateaux, or gone for that second row of Caramello, come on now, what's wrong with a little indulgence now and then? It's nothing to do with memory loss! Aye Girls?

Gal

Charlee 06-21-2010 09:32 PM

Can I plead the fifth???? ;)

Gal 06-21-2010 09:36 PM

Charlee, fabric or chocolate? Lol

Gal

CAROLJ 06-21-2010 10:32 PM

Yes I have, and a lot of it each time. The really sad thing is I haven't used it yet. I just thought it was pretty when I bought it 2 years ago and then again when I bought it off Ebay recently.

tmg 06-22-2010 01:54 AM

Yes I do that too.

sewcrafty 06-22-2010 02:07 AM

Yep!!! Actually a couple of times.

farmer623 06-22-2010 03:05 AM

I'm glad others have brain troubles, too. I ordered a book the other day, just had to have a pattern out of it, and found the exact same book in my little library when I was cleaning out. It was so expensive, you'd think I would have remembered. I guess I'll have to make the quilt twice.

mjsylvstr 06-22-2010 03:52 AM

just goes to show that when you like something,

you really like it !!!!!!!!!

Crickett Sweet 06-22-2010 04:08 AM

I have. I find I am always drawn to fabric that I already own and they I'll realize that I already have it. Sometimes it's a nice surprise to find you have two pieces of something. I usually buy a yard if I don't have a play for it and they when I do know what I want to do, I might need more so what a nice surprise to find that extra piece.

katsewnsew 06-22-2010 04:09 AM

That fabric is telling you something! "Make a beautiful quilt out of me, will ya already!!!!"

Rebecca VLQ 06-22-2010 04:10 AM

Heh. Can I join the club? Another one is finding the same pattern in a different colorway...but it feels like the first time you saw it!

brushandthimble 06-22-2010 04:12 AM

yep, more than once. sometimes on purpose sometimes not....
