It is a newer fabric company.

Our sales rep just picked their line up... and I'm trying to gauge whether very many people know about this name.

Their fabrics have a more modern look, a little bit like Michael Miller or Free Spirit.

No but to be honest I don't pay attention to names , I shop for what I like

Luv Quilts and Cats 10-01-2010 03:56 PM

I have not heard of them. But I don't necessarily pay attention to the names. I get what I like.

EasyPeezy 10-01-2010 04:31 PM

I have!! I LOVE Riley Blake. The fun bright designs are just my style. I just got a set of 8 fat quarters of summer song yesterday. I like the christmas line a lot but I don't make christmas items much so I passed on it.

melslove 10-01-2010 05:09 PM

sewingladydi 10-01-2010 05:19 PM

dasmith2 10-01-2010 05:30 PM

I didn't realize that. I love MME-no wonder I love Riley Blake too (I haven't bought scrapbook paper in a long time so I didn't realize since I hadn't seen the newer lines). I also love that Cosmo Cricket and Basic Gray are being made into fabric now.

oldswimmer 10-01-2010 05:48 PM

I know the line, and like it very much. Very modernish retro lines....if thats possible lol.

debbieumphress 10-01-2010 05:55 PM

OUR LQS just started her line last month. I like the retro. SHe made aprons and a quilt to hang in the store. Lovely.

Please don't laugh at me but... is Riley Blake a "he" or a "she"? Or a "them"?

gale 10-01-2010 07:05 PM

I thought it was a HE. Maybe not.

You can read about them here:
http://fatquartershop.blogspot.com/2...e-designs.html

Don't worry, I also thought Riley Blake was the designer.
The name is a bit misleading. JMHO.

We just recently received a new catalog showcasing their new lines. Mostly all of the prints were very small and nice looking. Great color combinations too!!! This afternoon a customer walked in the door w/ a piece and it's a very nice quality fabric. Held it up to the light and a nice tight weave. Very comparable to Maywood and Moda in my opinion.

charismah 10-01-2010 07:54 PM

LOVE THEM!

TexasGurl 10-01-2010 10:22 PM

Yes I've bought some of their prints, my DD pointed them out and we fell in love with them. More LQS should be carrying them soon !

jitkaau 10-02-2010 01:14 AM

I like Michael Miller, so if it is similar it should perform OK.

Rachelcb80 10-02-2010 04:06 AM

Hadn't heard of Riley Blake before this thread. Now thanks to you guys I have even more fabric collections and project tutorials to drool over. :P

jnagy1206 10-02-2010 09:57 AM

We have a fantastic store here - Scrapbooks Etc - which has branched out to fabric this past year. They carry Riley Blake fabrics, patterns, as well as Michael Miller, etc. I know it sounds strange for a scrapbook store, but it is really quite appropriate. They own a paper mill & have designers who have branched out to fabric. Contemporary and colorful.

mmlctnp 10-02-2010 11:25 AM

Just now checked it out online. Didn't care for it.

Same here. The only name I even remember is "Debbie Mumm" that I get from JoAnn's - only because she puts out a LOT of fabric and it's most often on sale.

Yep she did, one of my favorite paper designers- I know I'll have to get my hands on her fabric!

I agree I look for what I like , then the price..lol
last night I was roaming on line looking for some fabric, I found a site www.FashionFabricsClub.com found that they are cheeper and shiping is cheep, also they have some you can buy that is mixed quite a bit for pennies..its worth the look

DOTTYMO 10-03-2010 08:01 AM

Does it sell in the United Kingdom??

Favorite Fabrics 10-03-2010 09:07 AM

I don't know if you can find it in the UK. I looked at www.rileyblakedesigns.com, at their international distributors list here:
[url]http://www.rileyblakedesigns.com/Distributors/[url]

and it seems that the closest distributor is in Denmark. Do UK quilt shops get fabric shipped in from Denmark? Or Germany, or elsewhere in Europe? (That's something that I wouldn't know...)

Shikadee 10-04-2010 07:34 AM

Had not heard of. Looked at website, not my cup of tea.

quilter on the eastern edge 10-04-2010 10:53 AM

I saw some Riley Blake fabrics used on a tutorial on Missouri Quilt Company's website ..... really cute non-traditional Christmas fabrics. I like the Quite Contrary and the Enchanted Garden collections and there are others that I could pick and choose from, some dots, stripes and bubbles.

Annya 10-05-2010 01:47 AM

No I have never heard of it.

Marilynsue 10-06-2010 02:17 PM

No, but would love to see their line.
