My avatar is a Queen size quilt made for favorite nieces wedding last year. Tried to talk her into a pop of color but she just wanted b&w.

paulettepoe 10-13-2011 12:08 AM

Yep and added a red stripe.

heather1949 10-13-2011 01:45 AM

wow they look great, i haven't as done one as yet but my Football team in Australia is black and white, so no color added for me.

Rose L 10-13-2011 01:51 AM

No, I haven't done one yet. I currently prefer working on red and white quilts. I might do a black and white later on and I don't think I'll add any other colors.

Just check out my avatar. I did it as a challenge and entered it in a quilt show but did not get in. Then entered it in another local show and did get in. Go figure. It is all black and white then I added color with fabric markers.

johnnietate1225 10-13-2011 03:56 AM

I have not made one yet; but, have looked up quite a few. The ones I think I would like to make all have a splash of color added to them. I have seen them with splashes of red, bright pink, bright yellow or turquoise. Please show us if you complete one.

Spuddy 10-13-2011 04:24 AM

Riversong 10-13-2011 04:37 AM

Did a "magazine quilt" called Black and White and Red All Over for my first quilt show. Just had red added for a small border. Love those three colors together.

Tuxedo Project Block Swap on FACEBOOK. Look us up and look at our photos and you will see allot of different pattern made with Black and White and a color.

Egar B, this Log Cabin block/ colors are beautiful. Did you make the Biscuit Quilt shown near your name? It was the first quilt I made. I put it on my bed for winter. At first it is heavy but we get use to the weight with time.Take care, Nancy

I did 2. One was a log cabin set in the Barn Raising Pattern and the other HST. Took the pattern out of QUILTS FOR ALL SEASONS. In the winter section I did "In the Bleak Midwinter". I did the quick piece method. This is using a grid. Went together fast.

I am doing a B/W with music notes all over it plus a silhouette of a singer in the middle. It is for DH but he thinks it is for the son in law who also loves music. Won't he DH be surprised. It will be for when he is watching his favorite sport in colder days.

Yes! I just finished a black & white quilt with red accent for my granddaughter for Christmas! I pieced the back using squares of fabrics...some from the quilt top and some extras!

The name of the pattern is OPPOSITES ATTRACT and it was in the Oct/Nov 2011 QUILT Magazine. The pattern was for the quilt top. For the back I used 10" blocks of various fabrics sewing them together until I had enough!

TN Gal 10-17-2011 07:36 PM

This is a very pretty black and white quilt too, Jennifer!

sewbeadit 10-17-2011 11:44 PM

I made a just black and white for my daughter, she loved it, it was a puff one. It was really fun to make. I collected a lot of black and white prints.

JANNY 10-18-2011 07:44 AM

I did a black & white cat quilt. Half black cats on white backgrounds and the other half white cats on a black background. All the cats had a red bow tie.

Thanks, I'll have to see if it is still on the news stands.

Sandynorm 10-18-2011 05:55 PM

I did, and yes, a thin read border to match one wall in the bedroom.

carolaug 10-18-2011 05:56 PM

e using the split 9 patch on Marcia Hohn's site, Quilter's Cache. http://www.quilterscache.com/S/SplitNinePatchBlock.html

I photographed different layouts to see what looked better to me.
