If so, did you add in a dash of another color? Or stick strictly to just black and white?
I have made a B&W, was going to add a splash of red, but decided against that.
Yes, I did. I added a fabric with some red in it.

Dash of color. Actually, dashes of color.
It's up on my design wall now, and it's my go to baby quilt pattern. ;-) I've made over a dozen. It's easy because I always have enough of the fabrics needed in my stash and can just whip it up. Just need to find the time. Hopefully, I'll be done with it this week. But that's not to say there aren't some incredibly striking B&W (only) quilts out there. |
Nope not yet. Too much of a color-addict to stick to just B&W though one of these days, I want to try it as a challenge for myself.
Yes, still working on a B&W with Turquoise. I've also got planned a couple with a mixture of bright colors along with the B&W.
One b/w with blues (skateboarding/music)and the other b/w/red prints. Would like to NOT do one for awhile, too much working with black for me.
Am working on one, using brights as accents. :)
I've done both, and liked the results both ways. Black, white, gray also makes a nice quilt.
Late last year, we had a Black-White-Bright block swap here. If you search for and look at the thread for that, you'll find pictures of many of the blocks. |
I just pieced a 1600 quilt in black/white/ivory and added about a dozen 2.5X2.5 squares randomly from a fabric that with a white background with some primary color leaves and birds. I am a color nut and this was a departure for me and I just love the way it came out. That little touch of red, yellow, green here and there makes this simple quilt so much more dynamic.
