Love the one I use with my Topaz 30. Can't imagine piecing without it.

I have a 1/4 inch foot and love it. I still have to closely watch the fabric but it's nice knowing where it needs to go. Once you get it be sure and measure the distance from your needed to the edge of the foot to make sure you are getting an accurate 1/4 inch.

I have a foot 57 for my Bernina and love it . Cathy

I like it for straight seam sewing, like strips, strings, but if I am doing piecing with dog ears at sewing intersections no, because the little pieces get hung up under that flange..........BTW where would I get a quarter inch foot for FW?

Some of my friends love it, I don't. The reason I don't is because I think the seam allowance is too big. I like to make a scant 1/4 inch seam.

I have a Singer, an inexpensive one because I originally bought it for my granddaughter. Howver, it works fine for me! I need a foot with the quarter inch guide, and Singer said to talk with their parts department. Problem is, I don't know if I have a low shank or high shank pressure foot - any help? I don't want to order something that does not work. For now, I use moleskin, and move over the needle. Not as accurate, however, as I have to remove the moleskin to change/fill the bobbin and reposition it. (not a drop in)

I bought two--one has the guide on it and the sales person took the guide OFF the other. I use the one with the guide for straight seams and the one without for HSTs and QSTs.
Jakers1 The parts dept. should be able to tell which type you need by the make/model of your Singer. |
Before you go to the Singer parts department, check out http://shop.sew-classic.com/main. She will have any and everything you would need and answer any questions you might have.

Hello.
I needed to buy a quarter inch foot for my machine--it's new and didn't come with one. Saw this foot available on Amazon, with a guide built into it. I'm wondering if anyone out there has ever used one? If so, did you like it? Thanks! Karen |
