I'm doing a simple little baby quilt and am ready to quilt it. I don't have a LA so will do it on my regular sewing machine. But here is the problem. I don't know what pattern to quilt the middle section. I plan to do echo quilting around the rainbows and I'll stitch a line or two inside the blades of the rainbow as well. Echo doesn't seem to fit the middle section.... I'm thinking a meander or SID. Which do you all think would look better?

Either would look good but I vote SID.

How about a cross hatch in the middle?

how about a baptist fan design? It would simulate the rainbow arcs on the outside and tie the whole thing together. You can easily do it with a walking foot too.

I would look for a thread that would work with the print and the green and crosshatch the middle.

What a cute quilt!! I love it. I have no advice for quilting though....just had to admire the quilt!

When I saw it I thought clam shell or an orange peel design would echo the borders.

I would use a decorative stitch if you have it - and then do a cross hatch

I'd vote for a meander or a cross hatch~~

I was thinking the same thing as feline fanatic -- it would definitely be good to add a unifying element to the quilt.
