Great idea! I had given up on invisible threads because my Bernina looked like a rats nest the time I attempted this in a machine applique class. Somehow the invisible"fishing line" threads kept tangling in the bobbin as well as popping and curling out all over the top of my appliques. I was so frustrated because any attempts to correct the tension,re-thread,change my new needle only resulted in recurring birds nests. I couldn't use my machine the rest of the class. I said never again and promised myself I'd be safer with my invisible hand applique. I may try your method on another machine. Wish me luck!

Hey, Hat please try using "normal" thread in the bobbin. I don't know of anyone that used mono there! I am wishing you luck! Mono does have its uses! :)
