Doing the math in my head you will need to trim 3/8" off all four sides to get 4 1/2" block from 6" block. I would practice using paper instead of the blocks I made.

Thanks everyone!!! I finally got them done. First problem was they were too large to begin with. I appreciate all the help.

I have the 4.5" Block lock ruler (HST) and used it to trim up my QST's. I lined up the diagonal seams with the four corners of the ruler.
|
Put a dot on your ruler at the 2 1/4" intersection. Put the ruler dot on the center intersection of your block. Trim down each side. So what you do is measure OUT from the center. Good luck!

I have to find the middle. Then cut off each side as measured from the middle. Turn it 90 degrees and do that again.

Actually I like to make them oversized and trim them down. Just easier for me.

I like this one from June Tailor - works great when dealing with quite a few blocks.
http://store.junetailor.com/Creativi...eTriangles.htm I can square up much quicker using this ruler. |
That's to much to cut down, I would just make them all 51/2'' or 6'' square . ?? good luck
