Michael, be forewarned. I decided that I would not purchase any more fabric for awhile - I would try to "shop" my stash first. When I attend a quilt show, my motto is "I will NOT purchase any fabric." However, there are lots of new gadgets or patterns! It's a conspiracy!!

Hi Michael, I'm Chris and I'm a fabric hoarder. In truth, I'm a hoarder of all things and it was only through remediation of flood damage that I was able to recognize my problem. That was before I became a quilter though so only had saved back some clothes and the odd piece of fabric picked up at yard sales.

Now that I'm a quilter and have discovered quilting shows, and shop hops, and quilter yard sales I realize that I am a shopaholic, I've just switched from jewelry and knickknacks to fabric. It is the thrill of procuring the item and the having of a beautiful thing.

And yes, going through periodically and sorting and having the 'aha' moment all over again ;-)

I think I'll try doing that the next time the urge to buy steals into my psyche....at least that is free!

Hi Michael, I am joining your club. I too am a fabric hoarder. I stopped buying kits because I found I am not using them any more. I am having a problem with layer cakes and jelly rolls. I want all that I see. I had put myself on a fabric diet back in November when my rottie had acl surgery, but as with many dieters, I have failed miserably. And now that I have the long arm....well, what can I say. I am now starting to collect wide backings. I figure I can make a bunch of tops and then quilt away all at once. It is such a wonderful disease to have (hoarding) and who does it hurt?!?!?!

Now you can enjoy your stash for several years. I found myself in same situation several years back. Now it's under control.

Hi Michael, okay you are out of control!! LOL But it's fun isn't it? I live with the "fabric Control Police" (FCP) So I have to sneak it in and stash it in a 6 foot closet. (can't get out of control) Don't stress about it enjoyit!! Post pics so I can show my husband I am not out of control! LOL

If you need someone to help you make room for more fabric, I'll be glad to take some of the kits off your hands. :D

Welcome to the club - I've been organizing my stash for the last three days - my sewing area looks like a disaster. I can't wait to get it finished.
