I always quilt what the customer wants, no matter what. I have used thread color I didnt like, but the customer loved it. So, sorry this didnt work for you. hope you have better luck next time.

What a horror story! I would make sure that that person never gets another client! That was so unprofessional. Surely it wasn't ignorance--maybe just laziness on the LA'ers part? Good luck removing the marks. That is what I would have told you to do also.

Before trying to get the marks out, contact the LAQ and see what she used for marking. Then you can make a better choice of removal method. White eraser, water based, iron off etc. you really don't want to accidentally set the marks.

I'm sorry you're in this mess. I understand a personal emergency came up but your wishes should have been followed. If you paid to have the quilt squared and bound and she used the wrong pattern, I would be asking for a big discount. I hope the marks come out, I've never had good luck getting pencil marks out so I can't offer any tips.(( Big hug!))

Got this "recipe" from a quilt teacher years ago when I was first starting to quilt. I have used it and it works wonderfully.
1 part water 3 parts rubbing alcohol 1 or 2 drops of Palmolive or Joy ( do not use Dawn) Apply mixture and scrub gently with a soft toothbrush. Follow by wiping with a cloth. |
