Lighter colors recede while the darker comes forward......think of multiple mountain ranges going into the distance.
Your silhouettes don't need to be black or severely dark for the effect to work. It's going to be beautiful! Jan in VA |
Great illustration Jan. I agree there r more choices than black and grey.

Well thanks everybody. I have to thin out the brides right arm, move his pants up and widen them. Fix the grooms face so it looks more like the other one. (He looks like a goofball in the right one) and I'll go with a dark silhouette and light arch. If it looks even closer so be it. When all is said and done I may not like it enough to use at the kids wedding anyway... (Wish me luck!) And Thanks - you guys are the greatest! :-)

What ever you decide it will look great. if it was me I would make the couple light and the arch dark. the pattern on the fabric seams to suit the arch. love to see it when its finished.

That is going to be so beautiful, lovely idea for a wedding. Can't wait to see it finished!

This may be too late, but there is a free program called GIMP that is a lot like photoshop. You can take the picture of your banners and bucket fill in the outlines with light and dark taupe to see which effect you like better. I use this sometimes to preview what colors will look like in a certain arrangement.

I have a picture like that of my Granddaughters, Cream background black silhouettes of them in black. It is timeless and it was done years ago.

I see here, that the "brides" right shoulder is still too big and he looks like he's wearing his pants too low. I'm sure it's just the way dress pants lay sometimes, but I should bring the crotch up huh?
I don't have any suggestions for the colors, but this is going to be beautiful when it's finished. |
Beautiful. I would make the couple darker.

Ditto what Marymo said!
