I agree with geese. The blue /teal would look awesome.

I think it would look amazing with a black and white striped binding. Or black and white dots.

I would just keep it simple and use the black for binding. Your quilt is so cute.

Black or matching teal binding gets my vote. As for quilting, I would just do straight line stitching on the seam between the background and the inside black edge. Stitching around the umbrellas would be great if you felt comfortable doing it. But since it is a wall hanging you don't need a lot of quilting. Another idea is a few vertical wavy lines quilted with your walking foot to simulate rain.

If you have enough of the strip to do bias binding, I would do that. Bias binding from strips is just fun! A all black binding would work too. Or do the flange machine binding with the flange picking up one of the bright umbrella colours. Cute wall hanging!

I was also thinking the stripe fabric on the bias would be a fun finish.

I would use either black or the blue polka dot of your backing.

I like the black but to carry on the fun, I would use the green strip or one of the prints to keep it all spring like a perky.

I would use the green stripe fabric cut on the bias!

I usually face my wall hangings and let the design of the wall hanging go all the way to the edge. This is different than birthing where you sew right sides together and then turn then quilt. With facing you quilt as you would with a binding but then as a last step put on a facing instead of a binding. There are a number of methods to do it but here is a tutorial to give you an idea. http://thesillyboodilly.blogspot.com...y-to-face.html

I think I would bind it in the black. I think any of the other colors would look out of place. JMO
