You must be a very special sister for your brother to purchase a machine for you. To me either one would be great, however the black one appears to have more attachments that the white one. The other thing to consider is, will this be your MAIN machine or a class one. Will you sew only straight stitches or sew everything you can? How often do you plan on useing it?
Best of luck with your choice. Aunt Judy in California |

I have the black FW my mother got for her HS graduation in 1942 and the white/mint one I bought the day I got my first job in 1964. Love them both but the white one is rarer.

At first I say the white one; you don't often see them but then when you take in the fact that the black one is a centinial; I'd go with it in a heart beat. Great brother you have.

Be sure to ask if the bobbin case is included! I have a black and a white from Goodwill online for less than $200 each - love them both!

To my brain, Featherweights are black. I didn't even know they came in white until right now!

the black one

The green one is adorable but I think the best buy is the black one with all the goodies to go with it. Less monies also. I got aneat Kenmore for $5.00 at goodwill and sews so good!!!

PRicey- tell your brother you love him so much you want to honor that by not blowing it all on those prices=- stay up and watch some auctions and check those ending at odd times and days- you will get a better deal
