There is a scrappy diamond quilt that has recently been shown a lot. This picture shows the "star" in black, but somewhere I saw it done in brown and then the scrappy diamonds part was beiges and different shades of browns and was gorgeous. Look at book "String Quilt Revival ". They have some great ideas.

Do a search for "brown quilts" and click images. You'll get a ton. Any monochrome quilt will give you good ideas, for that matter.

A Jacob's Ladder could be done with brown and a contrasting second fabric.
