So, I found this really great fabric. I bought it to make a OBW. But I am also tempted to do a Cathedral Window with this in the window and the base being either black or green.
So - Opinions? OBW Cathedral Windows Other |
Both.
You better get more fabric. :) |
It depends on the size of the flowers. IMO, if they're small (1/2" or less)- Cathedral Windows. Larger flowers would mske a gorgeous OBW. The fabric is stunning!
|
Maybe buy more and do both???:)
|
I agree with tjradj hard decision... either one will make a beautiful quilt
|
I would do an OBW, the fabric is wonderful!
|
Gee, I don't know! That's one of those fabrics I hate to cut b/c it's so beautiful!!! (I'm NO help!)
:D:D |
Hmm, this is difficult to decide...so I ask myself-->which design do I like best?-->for me it's Cathedral Windows.
But then, like others...do both!!! Maureen |
Unless your Cathedral Windows are very large, I would think that you would lose your flowers and leaves. JMHO - but very beautiful material.

OBW

I would make a quilt with larger squares so I could see the flowers. I guess I am saying don't make either of those.
Too beautiful to cut up into small pieces. |
OBW
|
I'm certainly no help. Beautiful fabric!
|
Cathedral window!
|
I love the fabric!!! What ever you decide I know it will be beautiful.

hard decision

If you used for the CW quilt then you'd have to fussy cut the flowers(lots of wasted fabric). OBW used a lot of fabric too unless you just want to make a wall hanging. I'd come up with another pattern to use this AWESOME fabric!
|
the fabric is beautiful, no matter what you choose to do will be gorgeous
|
I fear the beauty of that fabric will be lost if you cut it too small. The colors are gorgeous! Can't wait to see what you decide to do with it.

OBW

I just saw a Cathedral Window made with black background and a bright floral for the centers. It's the most stunning Cathedral Window that I've seen.

A larger cathedral window block would spotlight the flowers and you wouldn't have to fussy cut them, perhaps 6 or 7 inch squares? I would like a medium green to frame them. I am not a black lover myself, all flowers have green leaves.

OBW...for me

OBW
|
Gee either one would be beautiful.
|
I think I'd do the cathedral windows first. This fabric looks to be made specifically for that! It is beautiful.
|
gorgeous fabric, I am no help when it comes to deciding on the pattern.

I am no help either, The fabric is beautiful.

I had some beautiful bright fabric with large flowers, couldn't cut it into pieces no matter how many time I set out to. I ended up using it to make a very large center of a quilt and then used the rest to make matching curtains. I love your fabric.
|
I have a blouse made out of that fabric. Or at least some almost identical to that. Buy the whole bolt!!! Because I think it is just GORGEOUS.
|
Excuse, me. I'm having a brain freeze. What is OBW?
Wendy  |
If it's large flowers I would suggest kaleidoscope. OBW ?
|
Why not attic windows??? The fabric is fab. They're right --- more fabric, you're going to be busy.
