Here's my video on how to connect the beginning and end pieces with a mitered seam. My other 2 videos on the starting and making the corners are on youTube as well, but the quality is poor.

I wanted to find the glue tip that Sharon used on her binding tutorial. Guess what? The question came up on this board a few years ago! Anyhoo, since I live in Germany, i went straight to Amazon and found Roxanne's Glue Baste. Hope it works! I am sure I can find Elmer's washable school glue around here for refills.

I think Jan's method would probably be easier to learn. Sharon is certainly correct that the quality of the mitered corners is a major factor is judging. I have certainly heard this on quilts of mine and I have had more than my share of blues. Looking at Sharon's corners, I think mine come to a better point, probably because I cut the batting out (on a 45* angle) to make space for the binding to come to a sharp point. I have not used Sharon's glue method and might well try it for a flatter edge. I will re-emphasize that having the binding full and exact corners has made the difference for me between blues and no prize several times. I use a different method to achieve the same result of exact connections on binding ends. They are important too.

I posted a tutorial here once, but can't find it now. Tried to post it again, received an error message I think. PM me your email and I will send it as an attachment. It is a word doc. I use it to teach a binding class. No special tools, 3 pins, small ruler and a marking pencil.

Your directions are very good. I use the same method and my binding comes out pretty good most of the time.

Both Eleanor Burns and Kaye Wood have tutes on this subject that are super EASY.....

I use Sharon Chambers glue method. The way she folds the fabric to show you where to stop in the corners is the best part even if you dont use the glue

Holice has instructions posted on here. I have the printed and follow them exactly every time and it works. It's the only way that works for me and I have to read it every time ----- maybe I'm slow!
