How about Falling Charms.
|
I did a pink and green log cabin for my niece that turned out really cute. One side of each block was pink, the other side green.

Thanks to everyone for ideas. :-)
Jeanne S: I like both your suggestions. Funny that I was looking at the second one when you sent your answer. I'm assuming you would use the darker peace sign in either of yours? PenniF: I don't have the patience for small squares. :-( Too many seams. Baloonatic: "Well, my first impression of your fabrics is that they are pretty but unexciting, pattern-wise. The bold pattern of the peace sign fabric might be a little overwhelming in the border as it doesn't have anything to play off of." Exactly why I'm having so much trouble deciding what to do with it all. :-) Cathy77: Looked at Bento Box. I like it and it's on the top of the list. :-) I'm using fleece for the backing. noahscats7: I did a pinwheel last time. :-( Quiltaddict: Not crazy about Falling Charms unless I didn't use so much white. bj: I kinda like your idea. Now it's between Bricks, Bento Box and Log Cabin. :-) |
Marcycn, yes I would put the peace sign fabric in the centers of the rectangles. I did one of this same pattern for a charity quilt with solid black centers and it looked great. If you decide to do that pattern, every piece is the same size, 6 1/2" x 2 1/2" so it is super easy!

I am seeing a pink and green chevron quilt! I like the method used here
http://thelittlefabricshop.blogspot....-tutorial.html - no triangles, no bias. I'd do a row of pink then a row of green. Love the pink and green! A design wall really helps keep track of the rows as you sew them together. I rather like the 'peace' fabric for the outer border - it is quite different, but there is enough pink and green in it, and the peace sign in the one pink, it should work well. Have fun! |

How about triangles using the dark peace plus each of the other colors? Dark/pink, dark/green until all have been used. Too much dark peace?

I like the pink and green fabrics together. Very bright and cheerful.
Not so enthused about the peace sign fabric with them - the yellow in it doesn't seem to connect with the other fabrics. |
How about pinwheels? Very different from strips.
