Thank you ladies I knew you could help! Firstly, your right the finished size of the block is 8 inches. and the finished size of the block size I want is 12 inches. I am doing the Marcus Brothers Sew Along in civil war reproduction fabrics. Anyone else doing this? They are fun mystery blocks. The block is called Union Forever and it finishes at 8 inches and I wanted to make it 12 inches. Scissor Queen I think you method of drafting the pattern is going to be my best bet.
