Take it off, add another strip of fabric and put it back on. sorry about that. It only happened to me once on a quilt I was not the one cutting the back or putting it on the frame but I still felt bad.

This looks great! I learned my lesson and will not let my helper put the quilt on the frame without me checking the measurement of the backing.

A great idea and it should save time over removing the whole quilt and replacing it.

I am so thankful for the Quilting Board. Everyone is so helpful. Dunster, I followed that video and everything worked out great! So glad I did not have to take the quilt off the frame. My mistake came from loading the quilt the wrong way. Thanks again, everyone

Wow! thanks, Dunster--I bookmarked this cause seems like every once in a while a back is just a bit too short. Now, do you have a great tip for fixing tension problems on the LA without having to rip it?

I'm a completely new quilter and was completely lost on this video🙇. I sure hope I remember to always have plenty of backing, batting, etc, at least until I can be more familiar with this type of video help. Ugh will I ever catch up to what you wonderful QB ladies and gentlemen have up your long sleeves of experience have? I hope somehow I can have 1/10th of your knowledge. thanks to each and every one of you for all I'm learning.

That happened to the me on the quilt I am making for my grandson's high school graduation. I had measured perfectly. But, when I was making the sandwich I started one corner off just a little bit and it shifted a little bit. By the time I got to the bottom, the backing was off about an inch and a half. I sewed on another strip-but it off on the other side which was now too wide. I had used Elmer's school glue so there was no undo and redo! I can hardly see it and by the time I finish quilting it it will disappear completely. I am not one to point out my errors to others so I am sure that I will be the only one to know. But, that video is helpful so thank you for posting it.
