Kim

Have you considered sewing the windows on by machine? It's really easy. Eddie put a tute up on the board here.

Thanks all, that helps!! I like the machine sewing, but I'm doing this so that I have a take along project to do. One day of idle hands at the water park last week drove me crazy! Lol

The stitch I use is demonstrated very well on this video:

OMG Dena that's totally do'able!! Thanks!!!! So that's okay to do for the windows then..... Just do it along the turned edge... I thought I was supposed to go all the way through!! lol!

Oh, I never worried about going all the way through. In fact, if you keep it loose, it makes the top "windows" float above the base so you can actually put a finger underneath it. Kinda cool.

By the way, I never sewed my bases together by machine. I joined them by hand too. I did try the machine join but found it was easier to be accurate putting two bases wrong sides together and whip stitching. The cathedral windows cover the join anyways!

Yeah I was prepping all the squares and decided to do the whole thing by hand. It's meant to be a take along and if I do half of it by machine, I'll have nothing to take along! Lol
